Das Asien-Afrika-Institut (AAI) der Universität Hamburg lädt zu einem Vortrag mit Prof. Diah Ariani Arimbi der Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, ein.

Der Vortrag mit dem Titel »Women and Writings in Indonesian Literature: A Brief Overview« führt das Thema der Veranstaltung am AAI, vom 26. Oktober 2016 – mit den drei Autorinnen Dorothea Rosa Herliany, Hanna Fransisca und Nenden Lilis Aisyah – weiter aus.

Abstract

»This talk will briefly explore women, their writings and the images of woman in Indonesian literature. As a brief overview, it is not intended as a detailed historiography of the works of all women writers, as selection and preference are necessary in order to limit the discussion to within reasonable bounds. Rather, the emphasis is on the general ways that women?s writing was, and is, perceived by ist Indonesian audience. As part of the complex discourse, women in Indonesian literature are inseparable from the narratives they have created: narratives that focus on female characters and their responses to their surrounding adversities.«
